FAQ
Do I need to install anything for the web version?
No. Change Inspector Enterprise Web runs entirely in your browser. There is nothing to install, configure, or maintain. Just log in and upload your schedule files.
Are my schedule files safe?
Yes. All processing happens locally inside your browser. Your XER or XML files are never uploaded to any server. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the app still works fully.
Does the web app support Microsoft Project files?
The web app supports Primavera P6 XER and XML files. Microsoft Project file support is available in the desktop version.
Do I need a credit card to start the free trial?
No. You can start your 30-day free trial with just your email address. You only enter payment details if you decide to continue after the trial ends.
Can I switch from monthly to annual?
Yes. You can switch plans at any time from your account dashboard. If you switch to annual, you will be credited for any unused time on your monthly plan.
What database connections does the desktop version support?
The desktop version connects directly to SQLite, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle databases, so you can pull schedule data without exporting files manually.
What is the difference between the web and desktop versions?
The web version runs in any browser on any device, supports P6 files, and includes the interactive dashboard, relationship view, Gantt chart, and float tracking. The desktop version is a Windows application that additionally supports Microsoft Project files, database connections, and HTML reports.

1. Who we are

Change Inspector is a product of Insight Construction Consulting LLC, based in Portland, Oregon. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it. Contact us at support@changeinspector.com with any questions.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following when you sign up or purchase:

  • Name and email address
  • Company name
  • Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card details)
  • Usage data collected by Google Analytics (page views, traffic source, browser type)

We do not collect your schedule files. All XER and XML file processing happens locally inside your browser. Your schedule data is never transmitted to our servers.

3. How we use your information

  • To provide access to the Change Inspector web app and desktop software
  • To process payments and manage your subscription
  • To send you account-related emails (trial reminders, license delivery, receipts)
  • To respond to support inquiries
  • To understand how visitors use our website via Google Analytics

We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

4. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services which may receive your data:

  • Stripe — payment processing. Your payment details are handled directly by Stripe and subject to their privacy policy.
  • Memberstack — user authentication and account management.
  • Google Analytics — website traffic analysis using cookies. You can opt out via your browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Netlify — web app hosting.

5. Cookies

Our website uses cookies set by Google Analytics to understand traffic patterns. No personally identifiable information is stored in these cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.

6. Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription we will retain your basic account information for up to 12 months for accounting and legal purposes, after which it is deleted.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing support@changeinspector.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify active subscribers by email if we make material changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Terms of service

Insight Construction Consulting LLC · Effective date: May 30, 2026

1. Agreement

By accessing or using Change Inspector software ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is provided by Insight Construction Consulting LLC ("we", "us", "our").

2. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your internal business purposes. You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service. Desktop licenses are hardware-locked to a single machine and may not be transferred without our written consent.

2b. Desktop software

Desktop software purchases are additionally governed by the End User License Agreement included with the software installation. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the desktop EULA, the desktop EULA shall prevail for matters specific to the desktop software.

3. Subscriptions and payment

Web app subscriptions are billed monthly or annually and renew automatically. You may cancel at any time through your account dashboard. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period — no partial refunds are issued for unused time. Desktop licenses are one-time purchases and non-refundable once a license file has been delivered.

4. Free trial

A 30-day free trial is available for the web app. No credit card is required to start a trial. At the end of the trial period, access is suspended unless you subscribe. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the free trial offer at any time.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

6. Warranty

Insight Construction Consulting LLC warrants that, for ninety (90) days from the date of your initial subscription purchase (the "Warranty Period"), the Service will perform substantially in accordance with its published functional specifications. This warranty is expressly conditioned on your use of the Service in accordance with its intended purpose and documentation.

This warranty shall not apply if the Service has been damaged or misused in any respect. INSIGHT DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR OPERATE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR FREE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, INSIGHT DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Schedule analysis output should be reviewed by a qualified professional before being used in any legal, contractual, or claims proceeding.

7. Exclusive remedy

Your sole and exclusive remedy for breach of the above warranty is that Insight Construction Consulting LLC shall, if it receives written notice of such breach during the Warranty Period, at its sole option, either (a) correct or cure any reproducible defect in the Service within a reasonable time, or (b) refund the subscription fees paid by you for the month in which the breach occurred. In the event Insight furnishes a correction or cure pursuant to clause (a), Insight shall warrant such correction or cure for the remainder of the original Warranty Period or sixty (60) days, whichever is longer.

8. Limitation of liability

In no event shall Insight Construction Consulting LLC or its suppliers be liable to you or any third party for indirect, special, incidental, economic, consequential, or punitive damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of business profits, business interruption, loss of business information, liabilities to third parties arising from any source, or other pecuniary loss), regardless of the nature of the claim, arising out of the use or inability to use the Service, even if Insight has been advised of the possibility of such damages. In no event shall Insight's total liability exceed the amount paid by you for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. This limitation of liability is intended to apply without regard to whether other provisions of this Agreement have been breached or have proven ineffective.

9. Intellectual property

All software, content, and materials in the Service are owned by Insight Construction Consulting LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Change Inspector is a trademark of Insight Construction Consulting LLC.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you breach these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and discontinuing use. Upon termination, your license to use the Service ends immediately.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Multnomah County, Oregon.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify active subscribers by email before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
